Last Friday, Big Freedia Queen of Bounce & fellow New Orleans artist, Boyfriend rocked the Irving Plaza stage in NYC. The two artists along with band Hibou are halfway through their 19 show Bounce Shakedown Tour presented by Fuse TV.

Boyfriend kicked off the show to a pack house with the stage set as her personal boudoir with her dancers in robes & cocktails. Her intriguing style, wit-fueled lyrics, and feverish hooks amped everyone as she crowd surfed before closing the set.

Boyfriend was followed up with a set by band Hibou, a slight change sonically from the surrounding acts but they found their groove. The crowd took a particular liking to their song “Dissolve” as beach balls bounced across the theater.

Next up was Big Freedia The Queen Diva, who opened with “Dangerous” followed by a string of hits including, “Excuse” & “Duffy”. The highlight would have to be watching the dancers dominating the stage & Freedia busting it open till her belt feel off.  The crowd sung along to every record and was asked to bounce on stage with pros to fan fan favorite “Ass Everywhere”.
