At MADE Fashion Week F/W 2014  Lead Hairstylist, T. Cooper of Metro Look, and her team were sponsored by Rusk to create updated retro styles for the Chromat collection. Chromat is designed by Becca McCharen, who previously worked as an Architect before launching Chromat; her architectural background is very apparent in her designs. Chromat has been worn by the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, and Paramore’s Hailey Williams. The hair  for the collection was inspired by the 1920’s fingerwaves but it was it was important to both Cooper and McCharen that the translation was not too literal.

One hairstyle was named the “Robotic Finger Wave” due to the futuristic inspiration of the collection. The style was created using a Rusk Heat Freak blow dryer and curling iron and all Rusk products: W8less Hairspray, Freezing Spray, and Glue. The hair was first smoothed out with the Heat Freak dryer, then the hair was sprayed with W8less Hairspray and Heat Freak curling iron was used to create pin curls through the entire head. After the curls set finger waves were set in the front and stuck to the forehead and over the ears using Rusk’s Glue. Finally the style was finished with Freezing Spray for optimal hold.

“My team and I could not have created this style without the amazing tools and products from Rusk. The tools gave the style a great foundation and the products really allowed us to manipulate the hair into some cool shapes and held them in place beautifully.” says Cooper
