Singer-songwriter Max Schneider just released an amazing cover of “Take Me To Church” by Hozier and we expected nothing less!
Max has made a career out of performing amazing covers of pop songs on Youtube to his more than 700,000 loyal subscribers. We had the pleasure of shooting Max this summer this for XEX’s Chroma Edition while doing press for NBC’s primetime thriller “Crisis” & his 24 city tour.

During our photoshoot at VK Nagrani Max did an exclusive interview with Radio Personality Barbara Delaleu aka Roxie Digital of 103.9 & 106.1 BLI.

First and foremost how did you like your shoot with XEX Magazine !?!
I had a great time with XEX magazine I love all the new looks that we did for the shoot and it was good we got a lot done in a short amount of time and I’m excited for people to see it.
I’m feeling the hat and the looks, what was like your favorite look cause I had a couple…you with the sunglasses I like that and I like the shirt with the stars on it
Yea that was one of my favorites too the shirt with the stars, the one I’m wearing now, where I’m wearing now the hat, I like this hat a lot…we were talking about Pharrell’s hat and I was like we gotta get that Pharrell’s ‘s hat going.
Does this reflect your personal style or somewhere around it, what do you look like every day ?
I would say I’m a little more casual in a lot of ways I wear a lot of button up shirts and flannels and t-shirts and stuff like that but then when I do more of my stage stuff I like to make it a little more classier and wear more suit and ties.
Speaking of stage stuff that’s a great segway cause you’re doing a lot, like I could not stop reading your bio and I checked out your website, over the past few weeks …Congratulations first and foremost so let’s talk about your new highly anticipated series Crisis coming on Sundays at 10 ! Tell me who you work with on this show !
Totally, I play Ian Martinez and the plot line of this show is we go to this school where the President’s son goes and a lot of very powerful people’s kids go we go on this field trip we get kidnapped and they use the kids to manipulate the government through their powerful parents, so the log line is how long will you go to protect your child and the people you love and I’m one of the kidnapped kids. And I get to work, it’s been wonderful I get to work with Jillian Anderson and Dermot Mulroney and Lance Gross, Rachel Taylor.
So how did you prepare being in a role like that, you say you get kidnapped it seems like a really similar plot line from a lot of what’s going on from what we see on television on Scandal I remember movies like taken like how did you mentally prepare to get into the mind of somebody who is going to be held captive and kidnapped …how did you do it?
Long intense days we would shoot it took a lot out of everybody but in the best way possible and everybody rely committed to it and for me it was all about you know I can’t imagine actually being in that situation but being able to make it the most believable thing as possible it was all about thinking about if someone in my life, the people I live the most my girlfriend, my mom all these people if something were to happen to them, how far would I go to protect them and using that substitution really helped in approaching this role because it’s intense days everyday and my character goes through a very dark arch. He starts out as this shy artist kid and in this situation his dark side comes out. It’s been wonderful to play and great to explore but also been very grueling work and hard but it’s all worth it.
When do you have time to breathe, walk and talk and sleep but tell me about you have a song that is going to be the soundtrack for the Veronica Mars movie so tell me about that and like the singer part of Max Schneider ?
Absolutely yea, so for music I drop the last name and just go by max to make it more about the music and I have a single right now called mug shout it was in the Veronica Mars movie it was the song in the trailer and stuff which is wonderful it was my first placement in a big movie and I was really honored I got to go to the premiere and see it , it was surreal it wonderful to know something you worked on and loved is being used in someone else’s work that they worked on and loved is a real honor and that was a real honor I love my music. I always say that acting, you get to dive in somebody else’s life and you get to really explore that for music it’s the most personal thing to your life.

Who else are you working with musically ?
I got to work with Pharrell Williams last week which is amazing

I got to do 2 songs with him for the album.
Did he wear the hat?
He did wear the hat, he’s got different colors it’s awesome ! He’s the coolest guy, I learned so much in just a few days with him and I know it’s really wonderful a and humbling experience to be able to collaborate with him.
That’s great when can we expect that from you?
I have an EP a little taste of the album coming out May 13th and then I’m going on tour U. S. , 24 cities
June 4th to July 5th and I’m playing New York Webster Hall on June 17th
Yay, I was waiting for the New York date So we can get your music so we can play it on BLI !

So you said you would be touring and stuff like that, so when is your down time? What do you do for your down time and where are you, like where are you from ? Where are your family?
I’m from Hell’s Kitchen New York City, so I’m actually in my city right now.I love being here when I can. I live a lot in LA as well me personally I’m feeling great I’m super happy I’ve got some people I love in my life when I have down time I do so much on social media and all those different I think it’s really important to take time from all of that I’m really learning to do that now and take little vacations and get-aways I love random fun like bowling and zip lining I live adventure stuff I went on a trip with my girl friend to Costa Rica.
What are some words of wisdom you can share with aspiring entertainers like yourself?
I would say the hard work never stops and always be yourself cause there will be little moments where you won’t even notice where someone will try to change you and you got to fight it you gotta be who you are cause who you are is why you’ll be successful in what you want to do.
Where do you see yourself 5 to 10 years from now ?
I hope that I can keep touring then maybe do a show or a movie in between.
You want the Emmy and Golden Globe, the Oscar?
I would be honored, I think my biggest thing, which i realized very recently All those things come to waist side against actually making people with what you do and changing people’s lives and that’s the biggest honor of all so for me I hope I can touch a few peoples lives with something I love doing.
