Die Antwoord is back with a video for their new single Pitbull Terrier, a track taken from the follow up to 2012’s Ten$ion.
Pitbull Terrier is bizarre and conceptual as most D.A fans come to expect featuring frontman Ninja as a anthropomorphic pitbull, surrounded by kinky cats as he mauls & terrorizes the general public.
Die Antwoord is from Cape Town, South Africa and describe themselves as a “zef” rap rave crew, a term which roughly translates to “common” and refers to the lower-middle class counterculture of South Africa. “It’s associated with people who soup their cars up and rock gold and shit. Zef is, you’re poor but you’re fancy. You’re poor but you’re sexy, you’ve got style,” says ¥o-Landi Vi$er.
Their initial popularity began with their early video releases of Zefside and Enter The Ninja from their 2009 debut album $O$.
Die Antwoord are set to tour North America and Europe this summer, the dates for which are listed on their website.
